Robinsons-May liquidation sale...wait let me rephrase that:
ROBINSONS-MAY LIQUIDATION SALE!!!
As many already know, Macy's bought out the Robinsons-May department store chain and as a result, will be closing its familiar door (in most areas) by March 15th (according to a couple cash register operators that I asked).
I must say, the next crazy shopping experience to the holidays are liquidation sales! I went to the one in South Coast Plaza and it was a madhouse. PHAT deals yo! But man, the place already looks ransacked! Signs everywhere stating 50% to 70% off practically everything. The neatest thing I got was a poker table topper for $20 ($50-$60 normally)! I also got one of those automatic card shufflers for $8! (which honestly, shuffles better than me on my best day).
Fellas without me saying: poker table topper; card shuffler. You know what that means!! haha...
I also got some great looking dining and serving ware in the home section. Nice handpainted bowls for $3. And these are deep bowls-ones that will hold a full pack of ramen noodles without worring about the broth spilling over. Sweet!!! (for the record I'm not a ramen junkee any more--I just like the thought that they are deep bowls).
My friend bought a nice looking silverware set, with a brand name "Gingko". Does that mean if you eat with them, you memory will improve? Aside from name, they were a solid set of silverware.
Consumerism is funny thing sometimes. I was pretty bent on not getting more stuff, but I am a sucker for good deals. If by some fluke chance Costco announced "Merging with Sam's Club, everything must go...", well shoot, I might rent me a U-Haul, take a day off--no wait, 2 days off, and buy me a storm!!! Just kidding, I'm not that out-of-control. See what I mean by funny. Now I'm just laughing at myself for the nonsense I just wrote.
[sigh].
So yeah, you have till March 15 to check out Robinsons-May closest to you for good deals on whatever is left over. Hopefully there is something still there that is useful to you. Oh yeah, wear loose, breathable clothing. With everyone running around, the place is lke a sauna in there. The couple in line in front of me at one register were totally sweating! I should have walked over to the home section and bought them a discounted towel.
