AN XL SIZED HOUSEWARMING COMPLETE WITH AN XL SIZED GAME

Yesterday's Superbowl will be one for the books! I threw me a nice sized "WarmHousing" as I dubbed it and packed da house with 40+ close friends that have been a part of my life for many years now. Like a good pair of shoes (jeans, socks...whatever helps you illustrate), my house was broken-into nicely, and warmly.

Anyhow, I realized something, that I have been so busy to remind myself of, until the wee hours of the night:

I have learned (and still am learning) to not take things/people for granted - not because it is one of those cliche phrases, but because nothing and no one is exempt from loss. I am no stranger to loss, the Good Lord knows my journey! I believe loss is a primer for understanding the greater values in life. No one likes to lose - in fact, I think it ought to be taken as a way to strengthen character, and to drive forward to do well in life. Everything I have, the friendships I've made, is totally a blessing and worth all the hard work! I will continue to work my a-- off if it means I can do life better. Sure, I will lose some battles along the way, but I think it takes that kind of humility to succeed. Then you know it's not just "fluff".

I don't know if that is one of the secrets of life--but yo, life has a funny way of showing things.

Okay, Okay, so back to Superbowl XL. Seahawk's got spanked. Actually they spanked themselves. They are a great team and they just didn't execute. I liked them...but got to give props to the Steelers...who 'stole' the show. (ha ha, get it, steal, stole...grammar school...ok, nevermind I was trying to be funny...[sigh]...).

Thanks to my friends that were able to make it the party and for sharing the home with me! You guys rock! I promise to have smaller get-togethers over the next several years cuz if I keep packin da house, the floor might cave in. That's a loss I will try to avoid by being smart about it! O(o.o)O
